Disaster with the dog’s recovery today. Knocked her scab off and then licked the wound raw (she’s figured out a way to reliably get around the cone). Not back to square one because the would has obviously healed some but back to having the struggle of an open wound.

Very challenging day. Slept very little overnight trying to look after the dog. Her wound looks awful, which is really depressing. Tried to bandage it up but she lost her mind and attacked the dressing and it made everything worse. I’m really reaching my wits end with this.

A slightly better day. Spent the morning trying to keep the dog moving but it was hot and she didn’t really want to walk. Was able to relax a little but still spending most of the time hovering around the dog.
