Thankfully the executive laden meeting that came out of the blue wasn’t very dramatic in the end but it was still a bit odd and frustrating that we were blindsided by it. Mrs Basil worked from home most of the day.

The dog wasn’t nearly as tired from yesterday’s excursion as I’d hoped. So this Sunday was a familiar pattern. Walk the dog, rest and recover, walk the dog again, have dinner, rest and recover, go to bed. The main difficulty today was I seem to have hurt my foot yesterday so the dog walking is now not simply a metaphorical pain.

Another day where I felt like nothing got done. More meetings were added to the calendar though. Another sunny day but still weirdly chilly. Such a waste of good weather. Dog played a lot of fetch and is knackered.

Mrs Basil returned from France this evening much to unbridled glee of the dog. She brought plenty of snacks, the primary ingredient of which definitely seems to be butter. Looking forward to a dog free day tomorrow. Need to crack on with work this week.

A friend took the dog out all morning as a bit of a trial for when we’re on holiday next month and all went well. The CTO at work left today with no notice. Meaning we’ll soon have the 5th CTO since I started less than 3 years ago. It’s exhausting.

It wasn’t just wet today. It was sudden. Localised flooding all over the area. Pipe and drains spewing water. The Tyne burst it’s banks but theere were extra barriers in placed. I’m so tired of the rain and the mud. On the plus side, I didn’t have the dog.
