Other than the usual Sunday routine we took Scout over to a friend’s to see how she adjusted to being there. We’re hoping to leave her there when we go on holiday next month. She was a little excitable but no signs of stress or aggression so it went ok.

A warm, humid, and windy day. Headed out with the dog at about half 11. Spent an hour or so in the park and then walked to my old local. Stayed there for about 4 hours, the dog was sometimes settled, sometimes not. So that’s progress.

Thankfully the executive laden meeting that came out of the blue wasn’t very dramatic in the end but it was still a bit odd and frustrating that we were blindsided by it. Mrs Basil worked from home most of the day.

The dog wasn’t nearly as tired from yesterday’s excursion as I’d hoped. So this Sunday was a familiar pattern. Walk the dog, rest and recover, walk the dog again, have dinner, rest and recover, go to bed. The main difficulty today was I seem to have hurt my foot yesterday so the dog walking is now not simply a metaphorical pain.

Another day where I felt like nothing got done. More meetings were added to the calendar though. Another sunny day but still weirdly chilly. Such a waste of good weather. Dog played a lot of fetch and is knackered.

Mrs Basil returned from France this evening much to unbridled glee of the dog. She brought plenty of snacks, the primary ingredient of which definitely seems to be butter. Looking forward to a dog free day tomorrow. Need to crack on with work this week.
