Spent the morning at Cow Green Reservoir. It was over an hour drive each way. It was windy as shit and cold and I generally didn’t want to be there. Mrs Basil enjoyed it and Scout always likes spending time with her “brothers”. Now I’m tired and feel like I’ve lost half my weekend.

Spent an age cleaning 8 years of grime from my laptop. Consisted of scraping as much of the gunk off as possible with a bit of plastic. Then repeated vigorous rubbing with as much soapy water as a I dared risk. Couldn’t call it good as new, but it’s much less shameful.

New laptop battery arrived this afternoon and installation seemed to go ok. Huge novelty in having a charge over 24%. I did the fully charged plus a few hours then discharge as instructed but no clue if the laptop firmware is in any way calibrated by this of its a myth perpetuated by manufacturers to mess with us.
