Day in Bosnia. Kravica waterfalls and Mostar. The waterfalls were really beautiful and the landscape either side of the boarder was incredible. Mostar was interesting but, like when first arriving in Dubrovnik, felt almost not real, like a tourist showpiece. A quick boat trip was a good vantage for the bridge. The war museum was very interesting, but very graphic.

Another warm day and had to put on the 2nd coat of wood treatment on the garden furniture. Maria wanted to mow the grass so I let her. Rainstorm overnight but one last hot day tomorrow so very happy to be off work and finally dog free . Might head into Newcastle.

Last full day in Dubrovnik. We decided to try the kayaking. It was fun but we didn’t have our swimsuits so just embracing getting our clothes soaked. Also, the pebbles on the beach were very painful to walk on. The evening was a truly wonderful boat trip. A meal at sunset. Wonderful views, amazing food. The sound of the wild peacocks on Lokrum island. A really special evening.

Beautiful sunny Monday off work and dog free. Schlepped to Newcastle and wandered about for a bit and got lunch then walked to the Free Trade and had a few pints. Had to keep ducking inside cos it was too hot in the sun.

A last morning in Dubrovnik. Packed and checked out. Some shopping, some postcards. Then the long journey home. Ten hours; door to door. Misplaced my bank card in Manchester Airport and whoever found it used it to buy something which was annoying, but the Barclays app is good and I could cancel the card as soon as I got the unexpected notification.

Back to work. Fairly quiet day. A few awkward questions but nothing too taxing. Rained all day, so both dog walks were fun. The dog never wants to walk in the rain until she gets to a field and then she’s perfectly content. Mrs Basil had a working dinner so I tried a local burger place for the first time, it was pretty naff.
