Mrs Basil is coming down with a cold. I spent the day fighting with my visual studio environment. Code for a task took about 90 minutes. The rest of the day was fighting the environment.

The sunny weekend we were “promised” turned into just another mud bath. Another Sunday where I did nothing. Walked the dog. Met Mrs Basil after church. Watched football, walked the dog again…. Started reading Revenge by Yoko Ogawa, not sure what to make of it yet.

Very cold day. Dull and slow workday. Mrs Basil came home and tagged me in with the dog. So I froze in the field for an hour. I accidentally let my Syncler subscription expire so had to quickly buy a new one this evening.

Work started easy today then escalated. I seem to have become the lightning rod for discontent regarding a particular system, despite having no involvement in creating or choosing said system. Quite frustrating. Another day with the dog, so thankfully the sun was out.

Busy day at work so headed to the pub afterwards. All the locals were in good spirits in the aftermath of Newcastle winning the league cup last Sunday.

Mrs Basil is coordinating a film shoot in the area on behalf of a Spanish feature production. She’s hired a local bar / restaurant for the day to use as a base. So tonight we went to check it out after work. Chicken flatbread and a pint. Hit the spot.
