My boss has had a pretty big promotion so some of the senior folk in our team are suddenly getting bombarded with a bunch of work that he was previously dealing with. It’s going to be quite full on for the foreseeable future. Haircut after work via the pub.

I’ve been keeping this up for a month so far. Just another 11 until it starts to show its benefits. The moderate wind today has caused some damage to my makeshift garden fence, hopefully it holds up a little longer.

Really full on day. Lots of niggles and small issues at work one after another. One colleague getting very grouchy because of computer troubles. Went to the pub after work. Chatted with some regulars.

Feeling a bit glum today. I get this way with increasing regularity, especially over winter it seems. Where I feel like I just get up, go to work, walk the dog, make dinner, eat dinner, clean up, collapse on sofa, go to bed, repeat. Then the weekend comes where I do more dog walking and more cleaning and that’s about it.

Mrs Basil had a haircut this morning while I walked the dog. It was cold but mercifully sunny. Picked up Mrs Basil and got lunch from the fishmonger on the way home. I had a lazy afternoon. Mrs Basil did some planting in the garden before walking the dog.

Mrs Basil had a pretty large career knock back today. Funding rejection that, whilst a long shot, she was really in the running for. She’s spent decades of fighting for every inch and never being able to gain whole yards. It’s hard for me to know what she’s going through, given I’ve never really tried to do anything. It’s going to be tough for a while.
