Another freakishly warm day. Mrs Basil took the dog on an enormous hike in kielder while I cleaned the house. Mrs Basil’s friend came over at 7 and we went to the pub then got takeaway. They’re staying the night cos they’re visiting from London.

Mrs Basil took the dog out for a few hours this morning so I could clean the house with being harassed. Weather was dreary and wet all day so plans for the garden were shelved again. Has been a good weekend of results for Leeds United.

Back to more seasonally appropriate weather. Cold and Fog. Mrs Basil’s friend stayed the night so I had to spend half an hour reconstructing my office before work. Not that I did much work today. The plug on one of my monitors has broken so my setup is a bit awkward.

Walked the dog down into the valley this morning in the pouring rain. Bribing her with the promise of a visit to the pet shop once there. Mrs Basil drove and met us there as she’s under the weather. The pet shop was making a big thing about mother’s day, giving out gifts taking pics in a makeshift photo booth. All rather silly, but Mrs Basil enjoyed it, and what’s life without whimsy?

Another dull day. Had a meeting with my boss where he asked if I’d be open to a promotion in which I manage the team project priorities and workload and potential line management. I told him, tentatively, yes. I may regret it.

A day “off” work. I went to Mrs Basil’s office to help do some DIY jobs, like dismantling and rebuilding some shelving that was looking a little wobbly. All of which scared the heck out of the dog. Fell into the Aldi middle aisle on the way home. Back to the bullshit tomorrow.
