It was 30+ degrees today. Felt like Satan’s armpit. More tension at work between the lead dev and the useless tester. Dog sitting Max the chocolate lab for a few hours again this evening. Spent most of the time trying to keep him cool.

Absolute toss day at work doing “process improvement” brainstorming. Just left me feeling pessimistic and jaded. I elected not to watch the England Denmark group match, which from the sound of everyone’s complaining, was a good call. I went to the pub, then met Mrs Basil and the dog at 7pm before heading home.

Hot as hell again today. 26 degs in the living room. Mrs Basil took the dog out at 7am for a couple of hours. We went and got a bird bath for the garden and in the evening there was a bit of a thunderstorm which aggravated the dog a bit.

Finished with the process improvement workshop at work, thank god. I imagine sod all will come of it like last time. Went for pints with the old company refugees after work, which was excellent. Although I definitely drank too much.

Mrs Basil took the dog out for another early walk (unbeknownst to me). She returned needing a bath having rolled in fox poo and also possibly something dead. The dog, not Mrs Basil.

Did almost nothing today. Felt pretty tired after.my night at the pub. Definitely drank too much. Mrs Basil took the dog for a long walk in the morning. We did the week’s food shop in the afternoon. Aside from that… Sod all.
