A friend took the dog out for 3 hours this morning. Was a welcome rest. After the usual Sunday food shop I spent the afternoon making a shopping list / recipe web app and cooking. A very food focused day.

Nightmare day. Took the dog for a walk before lunch and she sliced her leg open on something running around. Carried her, with great difficulty, to the vets before realising they were closed. Got the bus to the out of hours vets which cost me several hours and £400. Now begins the ongoing battle to stop her licking the wound. Oh, and she sat in chewing gum on the way home so has that stuck in her fur.

Took longer to sign off all the testing at work today because I had to completely re-run one of the idiot testers fuck ups. Finally got everything signed by the end of the day. Donated Scout’s unwanted cave bed to a friend with a pair of Boston terriers. Hopefully they like it.

Dog’s let bled in the night, I assume she has agitated the wound. I took her for a massive walk hoping that the fresh air and no sitting for a long time would help… It seemed to work but was still a long day hovering over her stopping her licking it. It was my turn on the night shift.

A bit of a weird day at work. Trying to get documents signed so that user testing can begin. It was a bit like herding cats. Mrs Basil is pondering applying for a part time job in Edinburgh. It sounds ideal apart from the Edinburgh part.

After a rough start to the night shift the dog settled down and was quite cuddly. She was sleepy and quiet this morning meaning I could get some work done. Took her to the vets in the afternoon and they are happy with the wound. Said it’s going to be a huge scar. She’s need a bit agitated by it this evening so we’re still battling.
