Got an awkward helpdesk ticket at work about the system “being slow”. Thankfully I can kick it to the lead Dev on the 2nd. We all went out to the pub after Mrs Basil got home and bumped into a couple that we know a little and had a serendipitous few drinks. Turkish takeaway and Lord of the rings after we got home. Scout is dealing with the fireworks quite well.

Slept in late then we all went to town. Mrs Basil went to the cinema and I took the dog to the pub. It was fairly quiet until about 2ish then started to get very busy. Mrs Basil came and collected us after her film and we had a lazy evening.

Back at work and it was a shit show. Something that I’d noticed going wrong on new years eve and new years day but didn’t think was a big deal was a big deal and took down the timesheet system for all 3,000 employees. Took all day to fully resolve. Had to walk the dog and cook so didn’t have dinner until 9pm. Tired, hungry, and thrilled to be back at work tomorrow.
