Went for a morning family walk in corbridge. Got dropped off in the city on the way home to shop for some clothes for our holiday. Got back and had to go straight back out to a birthday party, a very busy day but at least there was a hog roast. Mrs Basil was feeling unwell so we headed home. Took the dog to a friend’s for a sleepover - a trial for our holiday.

Weird day at work. Had to deliver bad news about the work I checked yesterday and experience all the different reactions people have. But the people that will care the most weren’t present. Mrs Basil agreed to come home early so I could walk the dog before the evening…. Queue her arrival at quarter past 6. Standard.

A lazy day was in order after never stopping yesterday. Mrs Basil is unwell so thankfully the dog was worn out on her return from her sleep over this morning. Aside from a food shop and making lunch and dinner, all I did was do some weeding and put some mulch down on the apple tree. I might be coming down with Mrs Basil’s lurgy… Better be ill now than on holiday.

Went up to Alnmouth today. Mrs Basil needed to do a bit of a recce for an upcoming shoot at Aln Valley Railway, so we made a family day out of it. Was nice weather compared to what we’ve had to put up with so far this year.

The last week before 2 weeks off. Can’t remember the last time I had 2 solid weeks off. Mrs Basil got a fright doing her company accounts and had a pretty major panic attack while I was out walking the dog. Will likely be something that sticks around for a few days at least… I hope she’s feeling better come our holiday.

A normal Sunday. Walked Scout and collected Mrs Basil from church before heading home for lunch. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain. Mrs Basil then took Scout to the office for a few hours. After coming home Mrs Basil watched the film Anatomy of a Fall, it didn’t really hold my interest.
