Yet another full on day. Have managed to give myself another task on the new SharePoint system. There was also the IT department meeting today where all the middle managers and the (yet another) new CTO waffled on for an hour. Walked the dog after work while Mrs Basil went for a run, then we had takeaway cheeseburgers.

Was able to get some tasks ticked off the to-do list fairly uninterrupted at work. A few awkward interludes but nothing too stressful. Took Scout to the vet. After telling them she had an eye infection and asking for some of the £5 drops, they looked at her eye, agreed it was an infection, gave me the £5 drops and charged me £80. Happy days.

I got very frustrated at work today, for once it was mostly all technology. PowerBI and PowerQuery and PowerPivot and DAX and a bunch of other cobbled together Microsoft bollocks. How hard is it to join a few SharePoint lists together? You don’t want to know.

The dogs bad eye is already looking much better. I had a super boring day at work. About 10 hours checking a configuration specification against a configured environment and writing down every discrepancy. Finally pulled the trigger and pre-ordered the Kobo Libra Colour.

Went for a morning family walk in corbridge. Got dropped off in the city on the way home to shop for some clothes for our holiday. Got back and had to go straight back out to a birthday party, a very busy day but at least there was a hog roast. Mrs Basil was feeling unwell so we headed home. Took the dog to a friend’s for a sleepover - a trial for our holiday.

Weird day at work. Had to deliver bad news about the work I checked yesterday and experience all the different reactions people have. But the people that will care the most weren’t present. Mrs Basil agreed to come home early so I could walk the dog before the evening…. Queue her arrival at quarter past 6. Standard.
