Spent the day drinking with old mates in Ouseburn. Was the usual 12-8 affair which is a long time to be drinking. Thankfully nowhere was too busy and was a fairly relaxed time.

Average day at work followed by a nice sunny evening. The main news is that a our dog club arranged a puppy adoption yesterday and I met Arlo the 6 month old Labrador today. He’s a little skittish but a very sweet boy and very playful once he’s comfortable.

Easter Sunday. Mrs Basil didn’t have church because there service was last night. So she had a quiet morning then started cooking the leg of lamb. My mother arrived and we all went for a dog walk before lunch. The sun came out in the afternoon and it turned into a rather glorious day..

A normal weekend day. Mrs Basil had to work so I took the dog on a long walk, then collapsed on the sofa. Popped into Currys to try and find out if they would have the Kobo Libra Colour in the store when it’s launched. Got an soft/unsure no. Had tickets to Zwanze at the free trade but I couldn’t be bothered with a busy evening.

News of the day was the death of the Pope. After more leftovers for lunch, we made a broth with what remained of the lamb. Mrs Basil went to the cinema while I watched Leeds get promoted back to the premier league. Ended the day with a Heron flying right past me after the dog and I startled it walking out into the garden.

After the usual Sunday morning of a dog walk/collect Mrs Basil from church and get sandwiches on the way home, I left for the pub to have the beers I missed out on when I stayed home last night. The Zanwe beer this year was not to my tastes, but sitting in the pub for 3 hours was excellent.
